Mohamed is a doctoral student in counseling psychology (PsyD) at the University of St. Thomas in Minneapolis. Mohamed graduated from the University of Minnesota with a master’s degree in social work. He is a licensed independent clinical social worker (LICW) in Minnesota and a first-generation immigrant from Somalia. Mohamed's areas of expertise include working with the African immigrant/refugee populations in mental health settings through clinical practice, advocacy, increasing meaningful access to culturally specific services, and reducing disparity in the service delivery system. He is also interested in how prior trauma experiences affect immigrants’ current life circumstances.
