Akriti Prasai

Akriti Prasai is a Nepali American doctoral student studying counseling psychology at New York University. She is interested in mixed methods approaches to understanding how acculturation and bicultural identities can impact immigrant and refugee communities as well as first-generation college students' mental health outcomes. Other areas of interest for Aakriti include culturally responsive psychological assessment and treatment. In every aspect of her work, she is committed to understanding and implementing trauma-informed practices and considering the impact of barriers in what minoritized communities can access.
