Cindy Forestal is a dedicated doctoral student at Rutgers University Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology, specializing in school psychology. With a Bachelor of Science in Forensic Psychology from The College of Saint Rose. Cindy has conducted research under Dr. Jennifer Durham on positive identity development and systemic equity for communities of color. Currently, she collaborates with Dr. Alexandria Bauer on a culturally tailored psychoeducation intervention focusing on mental health literacy about trauma and substance use among young Black adults. Alongside her academic pursuits, Cindy works as a Neuropsychology Extern, conducting assessments in an inpatient rehabilitation and brain injury unit, and concussion clinic at a New York City hospital. Her professional aspiration is to become a Forensic Neuropsychologist, advocating for marginalized individuals within the criminal justice system. As a Haitian American and member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., Cindy advocates for diversity within the mental health field, striving to ensure culturally competent care for all.
