Daniel George is an aspiring clinical neuropsychologist and a third-year doctoral student at Howard University, under the mentorship of Dr. Denee Mwendwa and Dr. Thomas Obisesan. He has previously conducted research in cross-cultural neuropsychology at UNC-Wilmington and health disparities in neurological conditions at the Wake Forest School of Medicine, where he earned his master's in science degree. His current research is focused on the promotion of healthy cognitive aging by targeting modifiable risk factors for Alzheimer’s diseases and other dementias, such as chronic diseases and the lifestyle factors which contribute to them.
As a clinician, he aims to reduce barriers to health psychology and neuropsychological services for underserved communities to better prevent, identify, and treat physical and mental health disorders in at-risk populations. His clinical background includes work in non-profit agencies, community mental health organizations, inpatient/ outpatient psychiatric hospitals, and academic medical centers in North Carolina, Washington D.C., and South Africa. Outside of work, he is a proud community advocate. He takes pride in leveraging his experiences and resources to uplift marginalized, oppressed, and underserved communities, living by the saying “Blessings go through you, not to you.”
