Denise Williams, PhD

Denise Williams, PhD, is a licensed counselor, executive coach, educator, and author, who guides individuals to increase insight, overcome obstacles, make positive changes, and achieve important goals. As a supplement to an extensive professional career, Williams earned a doctorate in organizational leadership from Columbia University, while providing aspects of executive development to leaders in fast-paced, corporate environments. Soon, she recognized there was a significant void in the attention to mental health among her clients, which inspired her to earn a master’s in professional counseling.

Williams currently applies a range of behavior therapies to help adults who are dealing with psychological issues, as well as providing counseling education to graduate students. She is happy to help individuals leverage their strengths, challenge limiting beliefs, explore untapped excellence, and push past obstacles, to experience new realities. Besides offering mental health services, her private practice continues to cater to the executive coaching client. An engagement with Williams is results-oriented and takes place in settings that foster empathy, directness, and a collaborative approach. Whether counseling or coaching, each contract is tailored to the specific need of the individual.

Williams applies Biblical principles of Christian faith, as a blueprint for her life and her zeal to service. One core belief is that clients who choose to work with her possess a desire to identify and unlock their own excellence. She published Wellspring of Words in 2020. This book draws on science, psychology, and Biblical scriptures to highlight the power of words to optimize the healthy functioning of one’s mental, physical, and spiritual self, and also outlines instructions for making a personal shift. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, hosting vision-board workshops, and delivering keynote addresses.
