Edith Tettey, MS LPCMH, LPC is a clinical psychology doctoral student at West Chester University’s Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) Program in clinical psychology. She earned a master's degree in clinical mental health counseling from Georgia State University in 2014. Since then, Edith has practiced as a licensed professional counselor serving at all levels of care from inpatient psychiatry and outpatient hospitalization, school-based health centers, and private practice. She carries robust experience treating mental disorders among youth and adult populations. Her research interests involve the impact of discrimination, systemic racism, and racial socialization among Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC), youth development, and family functioning. Tettey believes research should drive clinical decisions and aims to help broaden evidenced-based approaches lacking cultural applications to minorities accessing mental health care. She has research experience in conducting cultural conceptualizations linking psychopathology and complex trauma in community-based settings, as well as with survey-based studies on mental health engagement and success. Her personal interests include working out, distance running, cooking, baking, and traveling with her family.
