Livingston is a licensed clinical social worker specializing in individual, couples, and family therapy, in a career that has spanned over 25 years. Livingston’s career began as a graduate of Dillard University with a bachelor of arts in sociology and a master of social work from Tulane University, New Orleans, Louisiana, where her studies focused on therapies with families and children. Currently, Livingston serves as lead clinical social work supervisor for The Children’s Guild DC Public Charter School and has a part-time private practice. Her work as a clinical social worker has addressed a broad range of clients utilizing an eclectic mix of approaches. Her areas of expertise include cognitive behavioral, trauma informed, motivational interviewing, attachment, mindfulness, play therapies, and others. This vast career has focused on working with underserved individuals and families impacted by trauma experiences, by personal and community violence, as well as posttraumatic stress disorder because of military service. In addition to being a clinical therapist, Livingston is an adjunct professor for Howard University School of Social Work preparing the next generation of graduate level social workers.
