My name is Jaylon Bruner-Vann, and I am from Sapulpa, Oklahoma. My educational journey has consisted of receiving a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Oklahoma, and a M.S. in Sport Psychology from Florida State University, and I am currently a first-year doctoral student in the Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology program at the University of Georgia. I have experience working as a mental performance coach on both the team and individual levels with youth, high school, and collegiate athletes. I’ve also had the pleasure of working as a registered behavioral technician with children who are on the spectrum of autism. Currently, I serve as a clinician in the Center for Counseling and Personal Evaluation at the University of Georgia. My research interests are centered around BIPOC populations and include racial identity, athletic identity, identity development, mental health, mental performance, religion, and spirituality. My passions include serving others by promoting awareness of mental health challenges in communities of racially disadvantaged individuals, including those who participate in performance environments.
