Jodie Ullman, PhD

Jodie Ullman PhD, is a quantitative psychologist and professor of psychology at California State University (CSU), San Bernardino, earning her degree from University of California Los Angeles in measurement and psychometrics. Her areas of research interest are in applied multivariate statistics; specifically, structural equation modeling and multilevel modeling. She is a proud alumna of the Leadership Institute for Women in Psychology (LIWP, Class 3). Currently she is representing Div. 2 on the APA Council of Representatives. She has had the honor of serving has chair of the APA Board of Education Affairs and has also earned Fellow Status in APA Div. 2. Ullman chaired the task force who developed the "Guidelines for Masters Programs in Psychology" (2018). She is honored to have engaged in Federal Advocacy work through APA, including advocacy work to reduce student debt (H.R. 4223, is titled the "Protecting Our Students by Terminating Graduate Rates that Add to Student Debt (POST GRAD) Act, introduced by Congresswoman Chu). Ullman is Past President of the Western Psychological Association and has been awarded the both the WPA Outstanding Teaching and Outstanding Service Awards.


Ullman has extensive experience serving in a variety shared governance leadership positions. She has served on her campus Faculty Senate and the CSU statewide Academic Senate for many years. At CSU, San Bernardino (CSUSB) she served three terms as Faculty Senate chair. Also, at CSUSB she served as Special Assistant to Provost for Assessment. At the CSU system level (a system of 23 campuses), while serving on the Academic Senate of the California State University (ASCSU), she has chaired the Academic Affairs standing committee of the senate as well served on the ASCSU Executive Committee. Jodie was also a member of the Intersegmental Committee of Academic Senates of the three California higher education systems (the Community College, California State University, and University of California State University), and co-chaired a system-level task force on General Education.


In addition to the fantastic training she received in the LIWP program and community, she has also been fortunate to also participate in the HERS leadership training program as well the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) Accreditation Leadership Academy. Jodie is highly interested in women’s leadership development, particularly mid-career women as this is the career stage when multiple careers paths emerge, and as leadership opportunities arise, it is critical that woman are prepared with the skills, abilities, and the community to allow them to thrive.
