Jorge Wong, PhD

Jorge Wong, PhD, is a California licensed psychologist. His experience in public and private health care systems includes small to large nonprofit multiservice health care organizations focusing on underserved and ethnic minority communities through behavioral health, corrections, graduate training, executive leadership, advocacy and policy development, quality improvement, compliance, procurement, and community engagement.

Wong is a proud Banana Slug from the University of California, Santa Cruz, an alum and trustee at Palo Alto University, and currently focused on his private practice providing psychotherapy and expert testimony for probate court. As an advocate, he is the past president of the California, San Francisco, and Santa Clara County Psychological Associations. He serves as the California representative on the APA Council of Representatives, previously on the Committees on Professional Practices and Standards, Committee for the Advancement of Professional Psychology, and State Leadership Committee. He received the 2022 California Psychological Association Distinguished Contribution to Psychology Award and the 2020 Outstanding Psychologist Award from APA Division 31 (State, Provincial, and Territorial Association Affairs). Growing up in San Francisco’s Chinatown, he is a first-generation doctoral degree recipient who has kept focused on advice shared by mentors, “don’t forget where you came from,” “always give back,” and “because mediocrity is common, excellence is a must”. Wong believes and advocates for psychologists to become leaders, advocates, role models, and systemic change makers.
