Kelli F. Johnson, PhD

Kelli F. Johnson, PhD, serves as Dean of the College of Psychology and Behavioral Sciences at National Louis University and is committed to building a graduate college that is aligned to the university’s mission to provide innovation, access, and equity in education while fostering a community of belonging for historically marginalized faculty, staff, and students. 


Johnson earned a PhD in Counseling Psychology from the University of Miami and completed her internship and post-doctoral residency at the University Counseling Center (UCC) at Florida State University. Post-licensure, she remained on the UCC staff at FSU until 2008 before accepting the role of Assistant Training Director, then Training Director of the APA-accredited predoctoral internship program at the University of Illinois-Chicago’s UCC. Johnson transitioned to academia in 2011 as Director of Clinical Training for the Clinical Psychology PsyD program at the Illinois School of Professional Psychology in Schaumburg, Illinois. Prior to her current role, Johnson served as Department Chair for the Clinical Psychology PsyD program at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology at Xavier University of Louisiana. In 2020, Johnson became a graduate of the 12th cohort of the Leadership Institute for Women in Psychology. Johnson is the current President-Elect of and has held membership on the Executive Committee of the National Association of Schools and Programs of Professional Psychology (NCSPP) as Chair of its Ethnic Racial Diversity Committee (ERDC).
