Kymbriona Taylor (she/her) is originally from Chicago, Illinois and is currently an advanced doctoral student in the University of Missouri Counseling Psychology Program. She received a B.S in Psychology and M.Ed. in Education, Policy, and Organizational Leadership from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where she also competed for the varsity track and field team. Kymbriona’s dissertation will focus on mental health resources and help seeking-behaviors in the Black Deaf and Hard of Hearing community. Her clinical interests include race-related stress, multicultural counseling, and neurodevelopment assessments. Additionally, Kymbriona is passionate about advocacy and serves as a student consultant for Nurturing My Wellness, a program developed to support the mental health and wellness needs of students of color at the University of Missouri. She is also a student representative for the Missouri Psychological Association (MOPA) and APA Division 31: State Provincial and Territorial Psychological Associations (SPTA).
