Lin Zhu, PhD

Lin Zhu, PhD is a tenure-track assistant professor at the Center for Asian Health, Lewis Katz School of Medicine, Temple University. She received her PhD in sociology in 2016 from the College of Liberal Arts, Temple University.


Zhu studies how social, cultural, and contextual factors interplay to influence health behaviors and outcomes. She bridges intersectionality theory from the fields of sociology, psychology, and anthropology with research on health disparities in disease prevention and treatment in public health and medicine. Her substantive research includes cancer screening and prevention behaviors, cardiometabolic diseases, and mental disorders, with strong interests in racial/ethnic disparities and multi-level risk factors.
