Loretta Hsueh, PhD

Loretta Hsueh, PhD is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). She completed her clinical internship at the UIC School of Medicine where she specialized in health/bariatric psychology. She then earned her PhD in Clinical Health Psychology from Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) in 2020 before joining the Delivery Science and T32 Training Program in Diabetes Translational Research at Kaiser Permanente Northern California Division of Research in Oakland, CA. Her program of research focuses on improving diabetes health and diabetes care for people of color and immigrants. Her more recent work examines how targeting the healthcare system and its actors (e.g., health professionals) can improve how patients of color and immigrants experience health and healthcare.
