Michi Fu, PhD, is a licensed psychologist with a specialty in cross-cultural and international mental health. She is a professor at Alliant International University, Lecturer at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, and visiting professor of National Taiwan University. She is psychologist at Garfield Health Center and has a part-time private practice. Fu is a consultant, speaker, trainer, and workshop facilitator with specialty areas related to international psychology, cross-cultural mental health, Asian American mental health, gender issues, complex trauma, sexuality and non-verbal modes of therapy.
Fu graduated with an emphasis in Multicultural Community Clinical Psychology and now enjoys teaches courses related to diversity, women's issues, spirituality, sexuality, clinical immersion, and advocacy. She is a former Okura Mental Health Leadership Fellow who has been trained to engage in social justice advocacy. One of her aspirations is to found a wellness center incorporating mental health awareness with other collaborative practices (e.g., drama therapy, music therapy, body work, community gardening, meditation practices). As part of her self-care, she is also a social justice performing artist who explores themes through mixed media.
