Morgan Phillips

Phillips is a third-year doctoral student in the clinical psychology program at the University of Houston. She received her B.S. in Psychology with a minor in Africana studies from Georgia State University in 2021. Both her research and clinical work focus on understanding the unique cultural risk and resilience factors that affect psychological well-being in Black populations such as racial identity and racial stress/trauma. Additionally, she is interested in identifying sociocultural facets to help prevent and reduce suicide in the Black community. Morgan is passionate about developing and providing strengths-based interventions that focus on cultural humility and intersectionality.
