Guevara is a doctoral student in the clinical psychology PsyD program at William Paterson University, New Jersey. She earned her master’s in clinical psychology, specializing in forensics, from Montclair State University. Currently, she is involved in ongoing research in the Culture and Resilience Team (CRT), which focuses on promoting resilience in at-risk populations. Guevara’s clinical interests include working with youth and their families, conducting forensic evaluations, and the treatment of trauma, specifically child maltreatment and intergenerational. Her research interests include Hispanic/Latine mental health, acculturation, bilingual training, and decolonizing psychology. She aspires to influence future bilingual training methodologies to reduce mental healthcare disparities experienced by BIPOC non-English speakers.
