Paola Lugo-Tosado

Paola A. Lugo Tosado completed her bachelor’s degree in psychology at the University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez Campus. She currently is an advanced student in the Ph.D. program in Clinical Psychology at Albizu University and has completed her Master’s requirements for said program. Her current main research and clinical interest is perinatal mental health, with a special focus on protective and risk factors. She also has developed an interest in neuropsychology, psychosis, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and trauma. For Paola, it is important to prioritize the human interaction and the well-being of both therapy participants and their families in her clinical work. Her past work visiting affected communities by the earthquakes in the south of Puerto Rico increased her drive to help people who live in disadvantaged communities or conditions. She aspires to serve and support people across racially and ethnically diverse communities, especially Latinx and Hispanic people, in their journeys toward mental health.
