Rosalva ("Rosie") Mejia is a second year Clinical Psychology PhD student at Loma Linda University, with a double concentration in health/primary care and religion/spirituality. She attended the University of California, Los Angeles as an undergraduate and majored in a hybrid major of Linguistics and Psychology, with a double minor in Cognitive Science and Spanish. She received a Master of Science in Psychology at Palo Alto University through their generalist track. Her research interests include understanding cultural factors that affect health-related behaviors and outcomes, the impact of psychological resilience on mental health, and understanding the benefits of holistic approaches to health for ethnic minority populations. Her clinical interests include working with individuals experiencing chronic or terminal illness(es) from underserved populations. During her free time, Rosie enjoys spending time with her husband and trains Brazilian jiu-jitsu and judo.
