Sandra Gomez

Sandra Gomez (she/her/ella) was born in Illinois with strong ties to Durango, Mexico where she spent much of her upbringing with familia. She is an advanced doctoral student in the counseling psychology program at Teachers College, Columbia University. She received her BA in psychology from Cornell College and her MEd in counseling psychology from the University of Missouri-Columbia. She works with Dr. George Gushue as the lab lead for his Social Cognition and Career Lab. Rooted in social justice efforts and collective healing, her research focuses on ethnic identity development, acculturative experiences, migration, and educational /career trajectories of Latinx immigrants and their children. Gomez is also passionate about providing culturally responsive and accessible Spanish bilingual and bicultural services to Latinx populations.
