Sheaira Madden

Sheaira Madden is a first-generation college student and a Baltimore, Maryland native who is entering her third year as a Clinical Psychology PhD student at Alliant International University- California School of Professional Psychology (CSPP). She currently serves as the APA Division 43 Co-Chair and the Secretary for the Black Student Alliance at CSPP. She earned her B.S. in psychology with a minor in sociology at Lincoln University of Pennsylvania. Sheaira has a passion for providing culturally informed mental health care to underserved communities of color as such, she has gained most of her training experience as clinician and researcher in community mental health settings. Sheaira also has a passion for developing programs that serve Black/African American youth, adults and families. She has a particular interest in research that explores family systems, parental involvement, attachment, early childhood experiences, and the development of substance abuse. Sheaira aspires to become a licensed psychologist who provides quality service and care for those who are affected by healthcare disparities and barriers. Sheaira strongly believes in mentorship, advocacy, and preventative approaches to treatment.
