Sheree Harper

eree Harper is a fourth-year doctoral student in the Counselor Education and Supervision program at UNC Charlotte (UNCC). She received her bachelor of education and behavior science in child development and family studies, and a minor in psychology from Middle Tennessee State University. She completed her master's of arts in school counseling and her graduate certificate in play therapy (and has an addiction graduate certificate in progress) from UNCC. She is a National Certified Counselor, Licensed K- 12 Professional School Counselor, and Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor. She has worked in the school, clinical, and college counseling settings collectively for over 9 years counseling and supporting diverse populations across the lifespan. She is a member of UNCC’s Urban School Counseling Collaborative. She is a recipient of the 2022 Boris L. Henson Foundation's Mental Health/Kyle Pierre Johnson Scholarship, Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (ACES) Diversity Region Conference Scholarship, ACES Graduate Student Research Grant, and 2022-2023 Graduate Life Fellow for UNCC's Center for Graduate Life & Learning. Her research interests include exploring ACEs/trauma on African American students/children and utilizing child-centered play therapy. Additionally, multicultural issues, social justice and advocacy, and Black Mental Health as a professional school counselor and clinical mental health counselor.
