Tatiana Vera

Tatiana Vera (she/her/ella) is a first-generation-born Ecuadorian-American fourth-year PhD candidate in the counseling psychology program at Teachers College (TC), Columbia University, and current Student President of the National Latinx Psychological Association (NLPA). She receives specialized academic training through TC’s concentration in Bilingual Latinx Mental Health. She has received harm reduction and trauma-informed clinical training at Montefiore Medical Center’s Division of Substance Abuse, Gouverneur Hospital’s Latinx Bicultural Clinic, and New York Presbyterian’s Woman’s In-Patient Unit. Through her work at the Center for Disease Control, she has also supported future policy changes to prevent violence against immigrant communities, informing her clinical work. Long term, she hopes to continue working with monolingual and bicultural Latinxs in academic, hospital, and community-based settings to promote nationwide clinical and policy changes.
