Taynara Formagini, PhD
Dr. Taynara Formagini is a behavioral and public health scientist and a postdoctoral research fellow in the Department of Research & Evaluation at Kaiser Permanente Southern California. She earned her PhD in Health Policy and Management from the University of Kansas School of Medicine in 2022. Prior to joining Kaiser Permanente, she completed a T32 postdoctoral fellowship in Integrated Cardiovascular Epidemiology at the University of California, San Diego.
Dr. Formagini’s research focuses on advancing health equity through the prevention and management of obesity and type 2 diabetes to promote cardiovascular health among racial/ethnic minority groups and socioeconomically disadvantaged populations. Her program of research centers on developing, implementing, and evaluating evidence-based interventions to reduce diabetes-related health disparities and support sustainable, long-term lifestyle change. She is particularly interested in integrating family-based and digital strategies into primary care to better meet the needs of diverse communities.
