Tyrone Hamler, PhD is a tenure-track assistant professor at the University of Denver in the Graduate School of Social Work. Hamler received his PhD in Social Welfare degree from Case Western Reserve University at the Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences in 2023. Prior to returning to school for his PhD, Hamler was a master’s Level Social Worker in dialysis and hospitals. He received his Master of Social Work and Bachelor of Social Work degrees from the University of Cincinnati. His areas of research interests include health equity in kidney disease, aging in marginalized populations, organ transplantation and aftercare, chronic illness disease management, and mental and emotional health concerns among individuals living with chronic illness.
